Stately and distinctive, the historic Queen Anne High School is a vision to behold. Built in 1908, additions were made to the building in 1929 and 1955. When student enrollments declined dramatically over the years, the school was forced to shut down in 1981. After significant restoration of the property by Lorig Associates, the building was converted in 1985 to 139 apartments. In 2007, these apartments then converted to condos. The homes at QA High School include studios, lofts, one and two-bedroom units, as well as 2-story homes. Units feature granite or marble counter-tops, stainless steel appliances and vintage tiles. Â Many of the homes also feature oversized windows, including Palladian windows. Â For leisure, the building offers an expansive roof-top deck with BBQ. The Queen Anne High School is a designated Seattle Landmark and is listed in the national Register of Historic Places.
