Built in 2008, the 5 story Ruby is a mixed-use development by Barrientos, consisting of street level retail space and condos above. The building offers a series of attractive one bedroom and open one bedroom units, ranging from 621 – 934 square feet. Located on the north end of Eastlake, many of the 52 units are west facing, offering plenty of natural light and great views of Lake Union and Wallingford. Although the building is short on amenities, some notable aspects of the building include 9 ft. ceiling, floor to ceiling windows, slab granite countertops, gas range, under-mount sinks, A/C ready in units, private and semi-private terraces, and common courtyard terrace with BBQ. Generally, the open layout of the units adds functionality, and the 9 ft. ceiling height helps to enhance the spaciousness of the homes. Many of the units include a slab granite kitchen island, which also serves as an eating bar – a wonderful feature for a chef’s kitchen. Being on the main bus line, transportation to the University of Washington is convenient, and is only a few minutes to Downtown Seattle.
