More Details on the Eitel Building Renovation Emerge
The landmark (albeit recently neglected) Eitel Building is getting a new lease on life. We have previously reported on the building’s new owners’, the LLC tied to Lake Union Partners, plans for the historic structure – you can see our blog here.
The Eitel Building is in one of the best locations in the city and is thus known to Seattle residents and visitors alike. Sited a block east of Pike Place Market, at the intersection of Pike Street and 2nd Avenue, the structure is bordered by one of our favorite condominium buildings in the city – Fifteen-Twenty One.
As we have previously reported, the Eitel Building will become a 90-room hotel, which now has a name: The State Hotel. With its prime location, The State Hotel is likely going to be an instant success. Per the Daily Journal of Commerce, the renovations are extensive: in addition to installing new elevators and seismic upgrades, Lake Union Partners will also be adding an eight floor. The rooftop bar planned for the space will undoubtedly feature one of the best views in the city!
The project, complete with a renovated façade and street level restaurant, is expected to open in the summer of 2018, per the article. The project team includes Exxel Pacific (contractor) and Weinstein A|U (architect). The hotel will be operated by Columbia Hospitality. We will make sure to keep you updated on the progress of this fantastic new addition to Downtown Seattle!
