Seattle Has the Most Cranes in the US – For the 2nd Year in a Row
Another day, another Seattle record broken. Our beautiful city has topped the nationwide ranking of cities with the most cranes for the second year in the row. To top things off, this time Seattle has 60 percent more cranes than any other city in the United States, according to the Seattle Times article.
Way ahead of other cities, Seattle leads the way with 58 cranes in the month of July. Los Angeles is a close second, with 36 cranes and Chicago comes in at third place with 34 cranes. Surprisingly, New York City skyline is dotted with only 18 cranes.
We have blogged about the extraordinary growth our city is experiencing in the past, such as new construction of the newest Seattle high-rise, NEXUS. To emphasize the point, it is worth noting that while the number of cranes has dropped by 8% nationwide, Seattle’s numbers are only going up, per the article. As stated in the Seattle Times, the last report stated that Seattle had merely six more cranes than the second-place city, Chicago. Today we can boast about having 24 more cranes than the Windy City.
The semiannual report is compiled by Rider Levett Bucknall. As always, we will make sure to keep you updated on the progress happening in our city!Email
